Sinister Santa...

Make of this picture what you will. I'm not sure if he's a sneaky Sorcerer or a Sinister Santa.

Thanksgiving weekend info

This is boring, and I'm sorry. But there's a lot of info and I don't want to make a bazillion calls, so here you go...

I don't know who wants to go see a Thanksgiving movie, but I am taking my three on Friday morning to see "A Christmas Carol." We are going to the District (reserved seating) and we will be at the 10:05 3D or the 10:55 regular showing. If you would like to come, please text me by Tuesday 12:00 NOON for tickets with us. Otherwise, you are on your own!!!

DEK DA HARS WIH BOHS OR HORRY!
FA RA RA RA RA, RA RA RA RA!

Friday night is a Chinese spectacular, just as our pilgrim forefathers experienced. Assignments are as follows...as this is the 1st year and there is no Jackson shin-dig I'm assuming all are coming.

LAA: sweet and sour pork...you're welcome, Greg.
Ami: ham fried rice
Kristen: chicken and beef
Shannon: drinks as always
Melissa: crab wontons
Eden: egg rolls
Jill: something for the kids (LAA says your tots are already at her house)
Suzie: you are donating to Kristen, but don't get excited...I will collect it for her, you mooch
Megan: you are donating with Suzie to Kristen's food, and I bet Mike will need to pick it up. Coordinate with Kristen.

Also, the party will be held at the Mathews' house at 5pm (we will eat dinner at 6pm) so that the boys can play the traditional and ever popular pilgrim games post party...League of Legends and Call of Duty.

Finally, this Sunday (if you have had enough Andersons, too bad) is....wait for it....BIRTHDAY SUNDAY!!! We will be celebrating all November and December birthdays, so come prepared for a PARTY! Those assignments are as follows.

Ami*, Kristen, LAA and Eden will bring a casserole
Shannon: drinks
Melissa: side of some sort
Jill: side of some sort
Suzie: salad
Megan*: appetizer

*Ami-will you bring cupcakes for your birthday treat for the kids, and
*Megan-you and Mike need to pick and bring your favorite adult dessert to share

FYI the birthdays are listed below, with those responsible for gifts in parenthesis next to them.

Brandon (Jill)
AJ (Afton)
Ben (Bridger)
Megan (Greg)
Porter (Dylan)
Mike (Eden)
McKell (Roman)

Thanks so much for checking the blog!! It saves a LOT of time trying to get a hold of you guys.

BORING Sunday Dinner 8/16

Sorry this is so late, but in case I didn't get everyone I am putting this post out tonight. We are having casserole Sunday at the Mathews house due to inclement weather. If the weather turns around, we will be at Glaittli's. I will send a text maybe about 4 or 4:30pm (if I remember) to let you know if it will NOT be at the Mathews house. We will have some chow and play a little wild Rock Band. Good times...good times.
The assignments are as follows:
LAA: dessert
Ami: casserole
Kristen: casserole
Shannon: drinks
Melissa: jello
Eden: pasta salad
Jill: kid and picky eater food
Suzie: casserole
Megan: green salad
Should Jared and Aarika come, please bring something to share!

It should be yummy, so come hungry! Since we have a schmorgasborg (I have no idea how to spell that) of food, I will instead add a Mathews Family Band picture for our Rock Band evening. For other Rock Band pics and more Mathews (can you ever get enough?) visit www.agardenofeden.blogspot.com.

Sunday, July 12

As another year has come and gone without our father. I have very few pictures of dad and less than that on my computer. But never-the-less I thought I would share one. Although he was not mentioned on Sunday, I'm sure your minds were constantly brought back to the memory of him as mine was. Without getting too emotional I just wanted to talk about him. We don't do it enough. As he is a co-founder of this amazing "crew" I thought it only prudent that we should dedicate some of this blog to him. Please share pictures and stories about him. As he has been on my mind, I have spoken to a couple of friends of our dad recently and have realized that part of the reason someone's passing is so difficult for us left here on Earth is that our experiences with them end. All we have are our memories. I would really love to tell my kids more stories about our dad, but I have a terrible memory. In addition, a lot of the happier days were too early for even me to remember. Any pictures and stories are welcome...happy, humerous, sad, whatever. Let's celebrate the life of a man who gave us what we treasure most in this life. Our family.

Sunday Dinner 7/12

We are going to the cabin! (our cabin, not this random one)

And we are going to have hotdogs!

As for food assignments, bring something to go with hotdogs. Please do two things or one large one as we have a huge family and have to feed the masses!
Also, LAA is headed up right after her church is out, so go up as early as you would like. See you there!

More to love.....

I think it is safe to say that Lake Powell is not flattering to any of us.....except perhaps Jonah.
